CNC Lathe Machinist, Set-up & operate position job outline (high experience level):
Program, set up & operate CNC lathes.
Oversee shop production, troubleshooting problems with quality, efficiency & overall production.
Proofread OIS & check for errors on new jobs.
Program, using Gibbs CAD/CAM software.
Draw part, select tools, post process & edit to achieve a workable program for all (8) Mori Seiki Lathes.
Set-up, set work holding including boring jaws & collets & indicating in fixtures.
Set up tools in various holders such as boring blocks & turn holders.
Get tool locations in G50 or geometry form.
Dry run program and run part for First Article including setting up inspection for production First article use.
Operate, any CNC lathe in production mode to achieve quality parts at optimum rate.
Keeping scrap rate to a minimum.
Including inspection of parts using any and all inspection tools available:
digi-hite gage, comparator, CMM, as well as micrometers, calipers, indicators, gage pins & Jo-blocks, bore gages, groove checkers, etc.
Supervise, trouble shoot various problems throughout entire shop helping to control quality & production.
Salary:
$32 to $42 per hour.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
