Medical, Dental, Vision, SIMPLE IRA (3% employer match) Flexible schedules, remote opportunitiesSummary DescriptionThe Director of Accounting (DA) is responsible for successfully leading the accounting services department and all accounting teams within to ensure excellent customer service, team accountability, accurate and timely financials to the clients and overall department profitability.
Responsibilities include management of Accounting Managers to ensure the AM development and growth as well as assisting AM's with the supervision of all accounting teams to ensure they are running up to FLORES standards.
The DA is also responsible for their own set of senior level clients to ensure quality and timely financial statements as well as audits, reviews, M&As and compliance reporting.
The DA works directly with COO on growth and development plans for the company and reports on the Executive team.
Essential Job FunctionsInterviewing and hiring staff as neededOverseeing and developing staff to ensure an accountable and productive team that drives customer value and overall company successManaging and fostering the growth and goals of your team through monthly coaching sessions and ensuring that regular performance reviews have been conductedPlan, direct and coordinate work plan; assign projects, programs and activities; review and evaluate work products, methods and procedures; identify and resolve problemsEnsuring that work is properly allocated and completed timely and accurately amongst your AM teams as well as your own AA teamAssist COO to plan, direct and coordinate work plan; assign projects, programs and activities; review and evaluate work products, methods and procedures; identify and resolve problemsAdvise staff as to the handling of non-routine transactionsPrepare bank reconciliation, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, capital assets accounting, year-end closing entries and audit schedulesCommunication with clients to resolve issues or concerns they may haveSet up of new clients within SAGE, ensuring accuracy and onboarding list is complete and accuratePerform account analysis and reconciliation, including bank statements and intercompany general ledger accountsAnalyze and correct current period errors in general ledgerRecord assets, leases and expendituresPreparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements; assisting with regulatory reporting as applicableResearching accounting issues for compliance with generally accepted accounting principlesWorking directly with HR Services department to ensure continuity of payroll and accounting servicesMaintain confidentiality of clientsPerform other duties as neededKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesSolid interpersonal and supervisory skillsProficiency with basic Microsoft Office applicationsDegree in accounting or a related area is requiredMinimum of seven years related experienceAbility to follow pre-established guidelines to perform a variety of functionsAbility to follow professional appearance and dress code guidelinesAbility to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlinesAbility to communicate effectively and professionally with clients and others is essentialIMPORTANT DISCLAIMER NOTICEThe job duties, elements, responsibilities, skills, functions, experience, education factors, and the requirements and conditions listed in this job description are representative only and are not exhaustive of the tasks that an employee may be required to perform.
